Labor law is an indispensable practice of HLO for clients who have established or seek to establish business in Jordan. Some emphasis has been given to labor law especially after the publication in 1973 by Dr. Hashem of the first book in Jordan comprising an interpretation of the Jordan Labor law (updated with a second edition in 1990 with Advocate Rami Hashem as a contributor) (View Publications). The Office was also heavily engaged with labor disputes when it was retained as legal counsel to the Ministry of Supply and the Natural Resources Authority. Office members dealt with hundreds of individual labor disputes as well as collective labor disputes especially those related to the Electricity and Chemical and Petrochemical Associations.
