HLO was and still is engaged in commercial arbitration national and international. One of the main arbitration cases the HLO was involved in was on a big civil construction dispute from Qatar and United Arab Emirates in the Gulf on a project contract of FIDIC Conditions. Dr. Hashem was appointed by the International Court of Arbitration of the ICC, Paris, as the Chairman of the Arbitration Committee consisting of American and British co-arbitrators, which held its sessions over a period of four years in London. Advocates Rami Hashem and Fadi Hashem were involved as counsel to Jordan Magnesia Company Plc (the Employer) along with two UK law firms Mayer Brown LLP and Turner and Townsend in one of the biggest ICC construction arbitration disputes in Jordan amounting to over $140 million following the expulsion of the contractor responsible for the construction of its plant. Jordan Magnesia Company’s claim was successfully awarded by $53 millions.
